PLINKO ticket pays big for Chatham man

A construction worker from Chatham is planning to take a nice vacation overseas after winning big on an instant scratch ticket.

Peter Gatfield won a $100,000 prize on an INSTANT PLINKO ticket he bought at Queen's Variety & Laundromat on Queen Street in Chatham.

The 41-year-old told the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission (OLG) that he "screamed" when he found out he won.

"I went home to play my ticket and when I revealed I won $100,000, I thought it was a joke," said Gatfield, noting this is his first big win. "I just held my ticket and stared at it... I told my mom and she was over the moon happy!"

Gatfield said he plans to use the money to pay for a vacation, but doesn't have any other plans for the rest of it yet.
