Voters to elect new MPP for LKM

It's election day in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

Polls open at 9 a.m. in the provincial by-election where eight candidates are vying to fill the vacant seat for MPP.

Residents would have received voter information cards in the mail outlining where to vote last month.

If you did not receive a voter information card, you can find out where to cast your ballot online at Elections Ontario.

You're reminded to bring along one piece of accepted ID showing your name and current home address.

Polls are open until 9 p.m.

Fewer voters cast their ballot during advance voting from April 21 to the 26.

Preliminary numbers from Elections Ontario found 4,976 people, or 5.5 per cent of registered voters, cast their ballot early compared to 9,820 in 2022.
