Motorcyclist charged with stunt driving

A motorcycle driver is without their chopper for two weeks following a traffic stop in St. Clair Township.

At around 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, a Lambton OPP officer conducting speed enforcement on Highway 40 observed a motorcycle that was doing more than 150 kilometres an hour in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Police said a 28-year-old Wallaceburg resident was charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) with stunt driving, driving with an improper licence, failing to surrender a permit for motor vehicle, using a plate not authorized for a vehicle, and failing to surrender an insurance card.

The driver was issued a 30 day driver's licence suspension and the motorcycle was impounded for 14 days.

They're scheduled to appear in court next month.
