Man arrested for assault of an officer

Police arrested a 35-year-old Wallaceburg man after assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

CK Police said that at 1:40 p.m. they were called to a residence on Water Street in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.

Upon arrival police located a man in distress and while attempting to help him, the man barricaded himself in a room. When officers intervened the man assaulted police and then resisted arrest.

The man was transported to hospital for treatment and released with a future court date.

Man arrested for obstructing police

While police were dealing with the man causing a disturbance on Water Street in Wallaceburg, a man who lived in the same residence obstructed police by intervening and trying to stop officers from making the arrest.

According to police they discovered that the man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for mischief.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date.

Man arrested for theft and drugs

A Chatham man has been arrested on drug and theft charges.

According to police, at 12:50 a.m on Saturday, police observed a man stealing items from a parked truck on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

During a search of the man, suspected methamphetamine was discovered.

The 23-year-old man faces multiple charges including theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
