Impaired driver arrested at Rondeau Provincial Park

A 67-year-old Windsor man is finding out the hard way that impaired driving laws still apply at the campground.

Ontario Provincial Police said they got a tip from a park warden at Rondeau Provincial Park about a possible impaired driver shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday, adding that officers managed to track him down to a campsite at the park.

After speaking with the man, officers took him to the OPP detachment in Chatham for further testing.

He was later charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs

His vehicle was impounded for a week and his driver's license has been suspended for 90 days.

The OPP are reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive, anywhere.
