CK police briefs - Saturday, July 27, 2024

It was a busy 24 hours for the Chatham-Kent Police Service. Officers responded to 178 calls for service arresting seven people, three of which were on outstanding warrants.

Youths arrested for assault

Two male youths, ages 14 and 15 were arrested for an alleged assault in Blenheim.

Police were called to investigate an incident around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.

Through the investigation police learned a person was assaulted by two other youths at a residence. No serious injuries were reported.

According to police, they arrested the two youths on Friday and charged them with assault before they were released with a future court date.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
