OPP search for missing swimmer at Leamington Pier

The Ontario Provincial Police are looking for a missing swimmer in Lake Erie in the Municipality of Leamington.

Police received the report at approximately 7:53 p.m. Saturday for a missing 46 year-old swimmer at the Leamington Pier at the end of Erie Street South.

OPP said two individuals entered the water but only one made it back to shore.

Leamington OPP, the Canadian Coast Guard and the Leamington Fire Services are assisting with the search.

Residents are asked to avoid the search area.
