Harvest Moon Pow Wow on Walpole Island

Walpole Island hosts its Harvest Moon Pow Wow this weekend.

The First Nation is welcoming everyone to Highbank Park on September 14 and 15.

There will be competitions for traditional, grass, jingle, fancy and woodland dances.

A number of drum groups have been invited to attend and there will be singing competitions as well.

Gates open at 10 a.m. each day, with grand entries planned both days at 1 p.m.

The Pow Wow is free for the general public to attend.

PW Fall Fair celebrates 180 years

Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
