Chatham-Kent police entered into an investigation Saturday regarding allegations of historical intimate partner violence related offences. Throughout the investigation police found reasonable grounds to arrest a 19-year-old Chatham man.
He was located at his home, advised of the investigation and arrested without incident. The man was charged with four counts of assault.
Additionally, a search warrant was conducted and police located a pair of brass knuckles. He was also charged with possession of prohibited weapon.
The man was released from custody on an undertaking with a future court date on October 21.
Warrants
Three people were arrested on outstanding warrants by Chatham-Kent police over the last day.
The first happened Saturday when police responded to the area of Grand Avenue for a report of a suspicious person. Officers located the male suspect and learned he had an arrest warrant for failing to attend court.
The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested but released on scene on an appearance notice with a future court date.
The second incident happened when police were in the area Wellington St. W in Chatham on Saturday and saw a man known to police.
The-54-year-old man was believed to have an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in court.
Police confirmed the warrant, arrested the man and transported him to police headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.
Lastly, early Sunday police were conducting general patrol in Wallaceburg when they located a man known to police.
Police believed there was an outstanding arrest warrant and it was later confirmed he had a warrant for the offence of criminal harassment.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested without incident and taken to police headquarters where he was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
