Chatham-Kent officials have launched a survey to gather public feedback about the upcoming budget.
The municipal budget is the blueprint for how tax dollars are spent and staff wants to know if residents think spending should increase or decrease next year. The survey features questions on the 2025 Chatham-Kent budget and allows people to provide general comments.
The survey can be found here and is open until October 14.
The survey results and public comments will be provided to CK Council ahead of Budget Committee deliberations.
Information gathering is just the first phase of deciding the next budget.
The second phase is the Budget Presentation to Council on November 13.
The draft budget will be presented in council chambers that day. It will also be aired live on YourTV, and shared on Facebook and YouTube. At that time, the draft budget will also be available to read on the Municipality of Chatham-Kent website.
Following that, there will be live Q&A Community Open House sessions on Facebook on November 20 (12 p.m.) and November 21 (7 p.m.).
The third phase involves Council deliberations on the annual budget.
Deliberations will take place on November 26 and November 27, with contingency meetings scheduled for November 28, December 3, and December 4.
