Ridgetown woman charged with drug trafficking

Chatham-Kent police have taken $36,000 worth of illegal drugs off the streets following a raid in Ridgetown.

Police said officers searched an address on Victoria Avenue in Ridgetown Tuesday night and seized $36,000 worth of cocaine and oxycodone.

They also recovered roughly $1,000 in Canadian cash, digital scales, cell phones, and packaging material, according to police officials.

A 59-year-old Ridgetown woman was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
