Driver arrested, three injured in Merlin crash

Three men are recovering from injuries sustained in an early morning crash in Merlin.

At around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Chatham-Kent police received a report about a single motor collision on Merlin Road near Talbot Trail.

When they arrived, officers found two men outside of the vehicle with serious injuries and a third man stuck inside. Emergency Services were able to get the man out.

One of the passengers was flown by Ornge Air Ambulance to a nearby hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

CK police believe the 27-year-old driver was intoxicated at the time, so they arrested him. He was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The man was eventually released with conditions and given a future court date.
