A single-vehicle crash on Highway 40 has claimed the life of a 77-year-old from Chatham.
At around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, emergency crews were called out to the road between Chatham and Wallaceburg.
EMS were able to transport the lone driver to a nearby hospital, unfortunately they would later pass away.
The Elgin OPP are still investigating the incident with help from the Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.
Highway 40 between Countryview Line and Claymore Line was closed but reopened late Wednesday afternoon.
