Suspect sought after lewd act committed near school

Chatham-Kent police are looking for a man who allegedly performed an indecent act near a school on Tuesday night.

Investigators say that sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a man was reported on the grounds of Queen Elizabeth II Public School on Eugenie Street committing a lewd act.

The school was closed at the time and no children were present.

Residents living near the school are asked to check any security camera footage from that time frame, and give police a call if anything unusual is seen.

The suspect is described as male, from 20 to 40 years old. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants, dark-coloured shoes with a white or light-coloured sole, and a dark backpack. He was riding a mountain bike at the time of the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
