Chatham man arrested after business break-in

A 45-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges after police were called to investigate a break-in at a business on Colborne Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they responded to that call at around 4:45 a.m. Thursday and found a man with copper and wire cutters on his person.

He was arrested for break and enter, possession of stolen property, and possession of break-in tools.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Police nab wanted man during traffic stop

Chatham-Kent police caught up with a 29-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Police said they initiated the routine stop at around 10:15 p.m. and found the man inside the vehicle.

He was arrested, charged, and later released with a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
