CK man charged with several child sexual abuse offences

A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, making child pornography available, and luring a person under the age of 18.

Chatham-Kent police report that the unidentified man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 following an investigation.

In November of 2024, Chatham-Kent police said its Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) received information from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that a Chatham-Kent resident was sharing child sexual abuse material through Snapchat.

Police said officers searched a home in Blenheim on November 27 and seized several electronic devices.

"Through analysis of devices seized from the residence, police believe that the man was communicating with several child victims via social media applications including Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, and Discord," said CK police.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing following his arrest and the investigation continues, according to CK police.
