Large pot seizure east of CK

A large amount of illegal cannabis has been seized by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The OPP reported on Thursday that officers confiscated 345 kilograms of cannabis and more than 6,000 pot plants from a location on Talbot Line in Elgin County.

Police said the seizure was made possible by a tip from Health Canada reporting that the site was associated with three expired Health Canada registrations to produce cannabis for medical purposes.

"Investigators located 6,060 cannabis plants with 529 recently harvested outdoor plants, as well as 345 kilograms of dried, processed cannabis," the OPP reported. "This investigation is currently ongoing."
