Weapons, drug charges laid in Walpole altercation

An altercation that led to a gun being fired, has resulted in charges against two people from Walpole Island First Nation.

On Thursday, December 19, at approximately 5 p.m., members of Walpole Island First Nation Police (WIFNP) and Lambton OPP responded to an address on River Road.

Police said two people were taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were reported.

Colton Altiman, 29, is charged with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Jesse Williams, 35, is charged with careless use of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Police said both of the individuals remain in custody and will appear in bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on December 24.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
