Man facing charges after shots fired on Furnival Road

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against a man following an early morning weapons complaint east of Chatham-Kent.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Detachment said they responded to a complaint about guns being used at about 1:05 a.m. on January 5.

According to police, shots were fired from an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and a truck on Furnival Road in West Elgin.

Investigators quickly found the two suspect vehicles and arrested a 50-year-old man. He faces charges of driving while prohibited, possessing a gun or ammunition contrary to a court order, and driving a vehicle not equipped with ignition interlock device.

The man's vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
