Charges laid following crash that killed Tilbury teen

Charges have been laid following the investigation into a fatal two-vehicle crash just outside of Tilbury last month.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to a head-on collision on Queen’s Line between Wheeler Line and Davidson Road just after 5 p.m. on January 20.

"The drivers were the sole occupants of their motor vehicles," police said, but at the time no information was released about either driver's identity.

CK News Today later learned that Sebastian Belliveau, a young man known for his ability to bring smiles to the faces of everyone around him, was the person who lost his life in the crash.

No charges were laid at the time of the incident, but the investigation continued because of how severe it was.

CK police have now confirmed that a 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and faces a charge of dangerous driving causing death. He has been released from police custody with a March 31 court date.
