Chatham man charged with attempted murder after altercation

A 30-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Chatham.

On Tuesday afternoon, police reported two men were involved in a fight around 2:15 a.m. Monday on Grand Avenue East. Officers responded to the scene and found a man with "significant injuries."

Police said the victim was taken to hospital and a suspect was arrested at the scene.

The two men are known to each other and there is no concern for public safety, according to police.

Police are also looking for any video footage or information relevant to the case.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
