Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

Assault allegations have led to an arrest in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police reported they received a 911 call on Friday night.

Police said officers went to the address on Park Avenue West in Chatham and arrested a 54-year-old man from Chatham.

Police allege the 57-year-old female victim from Chatham was physically assaulted by her partner and the assault caused an injury to her head.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering death threats.

Theft Arrests

Chatham-Kent police have arrested three suspects following a couple of thefts.

Police said a 32-year old woman from Chatham was arrested on Friday night after she allegedly stole several items worth nearly $182 in value from a local business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

According to police, she was found a short distance away and all of the items were recovered.

Police also noted they arrested a 27-year-old man from Chatham on Sunday afternoon after several items were stolen from a store on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police said almost $280 worth of items were taken.

The suspect was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.

Chatham-Kent police also reported they arrested a 28-year-old Chatham woman after a 72-year-old woman reported that her purse was stolen on Riverview Drive in Chatham Saturday afternoon.

Investigators said they discovered that a series of unauthorized credit card transactions had occurred.

The accused also had four outstanding arrest warrants for fraud and use of a stolen credit card.

She now faces more charges, including possession of property obtained by crime and theft.

Impaired Driving Arrest

A 21-year-old man from Pain Court has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, and failing or refusing to comply with a demand for a breath sample following a traffic complaint in Lakeshore on Friday night.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex County said the traffic complaint came in shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday on Tecumseh Road East near Lighthouse Road in Lakeshore.

The suspect's driver's licence was also suspended for 90-days and his vehicle was impounded for seven-days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
