Chatham man charged after cocaine, fentanyl seized by police

A seizure by police of cocaine and fentanyl has led to charges against a Chatham man.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle on King Street in Chatham on Wednesday and confiscated cocaine, fentanyl, and a "large amount of cash."

Officers also searched a residence on Gray Street in Chatham and discovered digital scales, packaging material, and a small amount of fentanyl, according to police.

A 48-year-old man is charged with possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
