Two Wallaceburg seniors charged with assault

Chatham-Kent police have laid charges against two Wallaceburg residents in their 70s after what police say was a domestic dispute.

According to police, officers were called to a Wallaceburg home just before 9 a.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, police said they found a 73-year-old woman outside the home. A 78-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman were found inside.

Investigators said that a verbal argument escalated into a physical fight.

The man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. The 73-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

Both were released from police custody with future court dates.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
