Intimate Partner Violence Charge

A Chatham senior has been charged with assault causing bodily harm following an argument in Dover Township.

Chatham-Kent police alleged a 71-year-old man from Chatham physically assaulted his 70-year-old wife on Friday night after an argument escalated.

Police said the woman received "visible" head injuries.

Impaired Driving

Impaired driving charges have been laid against a woman from Chatham following a two-vehicle crash in a parking lot in Chatham over the weekend.

Chatham-Kent police reported the collision happened at a parking lot on Grand Avenue West in Chatham on Saturday night.

Investigators alleged a 31-year-old female driver from Chatham involved in the crash showed signs of impairment and failed a roadside breath test.

The accused was charged with operation while impaired and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.

Bail Violation

Chatham-Kent police have laid charges against a 19-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, alleging that he violated his bail conditions.

Police said the suspect had several bail conditions placed on him in early April, but alleged he breached them on Sunday afternoon when he approached two youths in a park in the area of McNaughton Avenue in Chatham and offered to provide them with a nicotine vaping device.

Police said officers found the suspect walking toward a nearby field and alleged he was drunk, breaching his bail conditions.

E-bike ride sharing pilot project to launch in Sarnia
