Sleeping driver charged with impaired driving

LaSalle police say a 20-year-old man has been charged after being found sleeping in his vehicle.

Officers responded to a call on Sunday afternoon about a suspicious vehicle parked outside a house. When police arrived, they found a man behind the wheel who had fallen asleep.

Upon questioning the man, police determined that he was showing signs of impairment and was arrested.

The Tilbury resident is charged with impaired driving, and driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration.

The man was released and will have a chance to respond to the charges in court at a later date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
