Assault Arrest

Assault charges have been laid against a man from Wallaceburg after he allegedly hit another Wallaceburg man over the head with a golf club on Good Friday.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the 24-year-old male suspect from Wallaceburg was intoxicated, entered a home in Wallaceburg, and began shouting obscenities early Friday morning.

The 42-year-old male victim from Wallaceburg was taken to the hospital with head injuries after being struck several times in the head following the argument that escalated, according to police.

The accused was charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

A Chatham woman has been charged with with mischief after a domestic disturbance in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the 31-year-old woman intentionally damaged her male partner's vehicle by smashing the windshield and denting his vehicle multiple times.

The female suspect was arrested on Saturday morning in the area of Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Impaired Arrest

A man from Wallaceburg has been charged with impaired driving by drug.

Chatham-Kent police alleged officers found the 52-year-old man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle on Easter Sunday just shy of 6 a.m. on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police also alleged the vehicle was in a parking lot with the four-way lights flashing and was parked across two spaces with the ignition and the headlights on.

Police said they noticed signs of impairment consistent with drug use after conducting a roadside test.

Investigators alleged the suspect appeared confused, had difficulty speaking, and showed poor coordination.

The accused was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and the results showed that he was impaired by drug use, according to police.

Bail Violations

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 22-year-old Chatham man after a disturbance in Chatham.

Police alleged a man under probation breached his conditions by being at the address, which he was ordered to avoid due to prior convictions related to uttering threats and assault.

Police also alleged the suspect attempted to force his way into the home by kicking the front door, further violating the terms of his probation.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon and was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
