UPDATE: Strong winds Tuesday, but thunderstorm watch ends

The severe thunderstorm watch that was issued early Tuesday afternoon for Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex has ended.

Environment Canada downgraded the previous watch around 6 p.m. issuing a special weather statement for strong winds in its place.

The national weather agency said the southwest winds will shift to northwest and diminish this evening as a cold front moves through.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind which can cause injury or damage and more utility outages may occur.
