Police Pursuit

Evading police has led to charges against a 21-year-old man from Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the suspect failed to stop for officers during a traffic stop on St. Clair Street in Chatham on Wednesday evening.

Police alleged the driver drove dangerously, failed to stop at intersections and red lights, and nearly crashed into other vehicles before crashing into a hydro pole.

CK police said the driver ran away, but officers caught up to him and arrested him.

Investigators noted the driver only had a G1 license and the vehicle did not have registration or insurance.

The suspect was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police, failing to remain at the scene, having a plate not authorized for the vehicle, and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
