Nicholas Bond, 37, had last been seen in Chatham on Thursday, May 1 and was reported missing over the noon-hour on Friday, May 2.
On Friday, May 16, police reported that he had been found deceased.
Police expressed "heartfelt condolences" to the family and loved ones of Bond.
Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
