CK seeks feedback on Erieau Boulevard plans

Chatham-Kent wants to know what you think of the future plans for a stretch of Erieau Boulevard.

The plans are for the section of Erieau Boulevard that runs along Mariners Road and Ross Lane, which is often used for special events, including the Boulevard of Dreams Car Show and Art on the Boulevard. Initial improvements identified by the municipality included removing trees in poor condition and infrastructure work.

After public consultation, the plans grew to include addressing parking challenges, traffic calming measures, fixing accessibility issues, and improving pedestrian areas.

The municipality has been working on a comprehensive infrastructure and tree management plan for the area since 2023.

"The site plan provides an opportunity to ensure that future development is intentional and meets the needs of the community," said Ian Clark, Manager, Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries. "It will play a crucial role in communicating a consistent and shared vision for the space."

The plans will go before council in the near future. Public feedback will be accepted until June 27.
