Assault Charge

A Chatham man has been charged with assault after an argument turned physical.

Chatham-Kent police alleged a 35-year-old man from Chatham confronted the 36-year-old female victim at a home in Chatham Wednesday night and an argument escalated into an assault.

Warrant Arrest

Chatham-Kent police have reacquainted themselves with a wanted man.

Police said officers arrested a 43-year-old Blenheim man after he allegedly skipped court at the end of April on charges of possession of stolen property.

He was charged in March 2025 after a stolen vehicle got stuck in the mud in rural Chatham, according to police.

The vehicle was returned to the rightful owners, police added.

The suspect was arrested Wednesday evening during a routine traffic stop.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
