UPDATE: Gas no longer venting in Wheatley

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent announced Friday morning that gas is venting at the investigation site at 35 Talbot Road West.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue (CKFR) responded around 11:30 a.m. after the strong odour of gas was detected.

As of 1:30 p.m., the venting had stopped.

CKFR assured that there is no threat to public safety and that crews will remain in the area to monitor the situation.
