Animal causes power supply issues in Ridgetown

Entegrus Inc. is asking customers in Ridgetown to reduce electricity usage.

The utility company is reporting equipment failure that could affect the power supply to approximately 800 customers.

It said one of the stations was severely damaged by an animal and was taken out of contact.

A Mobile Unit Substation (MUS) was installed while a replacement part is fabricated for the station.

The company is asking for customers to reduce electricity until 9 p.m. Sunday.

It recommends avoiding the use of hot tubs and pools, use a clothesline when drying clothes, avoid the use of an air conditioner and turn off lights, TV's and devices in unoccupied rooms.

The company said charging electronic devices use minimal power and fans also use minimal electricity.

A complete repair is expected to take place this week.
