Wanted man arrested

Chatham-Kent police were able to find a wanted man after he allegedly uttered threats to another person.

On June 28, police received a report of a man being threatened.

The victim, a 26-year-old man from Chatham, told police the suspect was a 27-year-old man from Wallaceburg.

On Monday, the man was arrested and charged with uttering threats. At the time of the arrest, he was wanted on other charges including assault, mischief, and theft.

Impaired Driver

Chatham-Kent police were able to nab an alleged impaired driver in a unique way.

On Monday, an officer in Wheatley saw a vehicle parked in the middle of one of Wheatley Road's lanes.

The driver, a 30-year-old woman from Leamington, told the officer she had stopped to respond to a text message.

After spotting alcohol in the vehicle, the officer had the woman perform a roadside test, which she reportedly failed. She later gave two breath samples, both of which she allegedly failed.

The woman has since been charged with driving while impaired.

Chatham home damaged

Chatham-Kent police are asking the public for help after a home in Chatham was reportedly damaged.

The incident happened last week on Kirk Street.

It's alleged someone broke through the property's fence and one of the home's windows, eventually making their way inside.

The cost to fix all the damage is estimated to be around $3,000.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
