Elevated pollution levels are expected to continue late evening. 

A special air quality statement is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Weather conditions are expected to cause increasing levels of ozone. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected through late this evening with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values as a result of ozone combining with residual smoke.

The high pollutant levels are expected to diminish overnight.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Leamington Flyers have hired a new Assistant General Manager and Assistant Head Coach.Richard Santos is joining the team fresh off of leading the Chatham Maroons to the Sutherland Cup title in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL)."Richard and I have coached against each other, and I've always appreciated the passion he brings behind the bench," said Flyers head coach and GM Dale Mitchell. "He's a Sutherland Cup champion with valuable experience as both a GM and head coach, a great asset to Leamington. We're excited to have Rich involved and looking forward to working with him."Santos replaces another former Maroons head coach, Kyle Makaric, who left the Flyers last week to join the Saginaw Spirit as assistant head coach.There is no official word yet from the Maroons on the team's plans to replace Santos as head coach.Leamington plays in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
