Wanted man arrested in Dresden
The long arm of the law has caught up with a Dresden man who was wanted in connection with a series of abusive incidents that took place more than four years ago.
Chatham-Kent police say their investigation started when they were called in for a report of domestic violence in March 2021 involving a 29-year-old Dresden man and a 24-year-old Blenheim woman.
Officers said the woman reported a series of incidents that took place between November 2020 and March 2021 that included multiple assaults, threats, and damage to property.
Police issued a warrant for the man's arrest and found him at an address in Dresden at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday night.
He was charged with nine offences including six assault-related charges, two counts of uttering threats, and one count of mischief.
The accused appeared for a bail hearing and was remanded into custody at Southwest Regional Detention Centre.

Drunk driver hits a hydro pole
A 62-year-old Chatham man is facing an impaired driving charge after a vehicle went off the road and hit a hydro pole in Chatham Thursday afternoon.
CK police said they were called to the scene near Indian Creek Road and Charing Cross Road at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, adding that the vehicle was seen driving on the wrong side of the roadway before the crash.
Officers at the scene believed the driver was impaired by alcohol, so he was arrested.
He was charged and later released with a future court date.
