Local gamblers' losses are CK's gain

Chatham-Kent is cashing out more from the OLG over the past three months than it did at the same time last year.

The first-quarter payment from the OLG for hosting the Cascades Casino in Chatham increased year-over-year to almost $475,000 from April 1 to June 30.

That is up by about $33,000 compared to the first-quarter payment from 2024.

The latest quarterly payment brings CK's share of the casino revenue up to just over $20 million since April 2001.

The money the municipality receives is put toward local infrastructure projects and community programs.
