Traffic stop leads to arrest for impaired driving, cocaine possession

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a Leamington resident is facing numerous charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Satinwood Crescent at around 11:30 a.m., and noticed signs of impairment from the driver.

The 44-year-old is charged with impaired driving, driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, and driving with an open container.

The driver is also charged with cocaine possession and driving a vehicle with cannabis in an open bag.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
