Intimate Partner Violence Arrest

A Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged with a long list of offences, including assault and weapons charges.

Chatham-Kent police said the 23-year-old man was charged with four counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm, two counts of possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, cruelty to animals and unnecessary pain, suffering, or injury, and five counts of mischief.

CK police noted officers responded to a report of intimate partner violence in Wallaceburg on Tuesday and found a 23-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, both from Wallaceburg, outside of the residence.

An investigation determined that the individuals were involved in a volatile relationship with a history of incidents involving threats, firearm possession, and property damage.

Warrant Arrest

A Hamilton woman charged with several offences, including drug and weapons charges, has turned herself in to Chatham-Kent police almost 11 months after failing to attend court to answer to those charges.

Chatham-Kent police said the 22-year-old female was arrested and charged on July 30, 2024 following a traffic stop in Chatham after allegedly providing false identification. Police allege she obstructed police and possessed forged documents.

Officers also found a large quantity of cash and a scale inside of the vehicle, said CK police.

Then on August 7, 2024, police conducted a "systematic search" of the vehicle and allege they discovered and seized the following items:

129.73 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $12,973

1,986.74 grams of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $119,204

221.99 grams of fentanyl with an approximate street value of $55,497

$1,870 in Canadian currency

Two digital scales

A prohibited weapon

A gold watch

The suspect was charged in 2024 with several counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, according to CK police.

The total estimated street value of the illegal drugs is approximately $189,544, said police.

According to police, the woman wanted on an arrest warrant for failing to attend court in September turned herself in to police on Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
