Two homes affected by blaze on Gray Street in Chatham

The damage is estimated at $500,000 to $600,000 after a fire on Gray Street that involved two separate homes.

Chatham-Kent fire officials said crews were called to the scene in the area of 87 Gray Street in Chatham at around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, adding that two homes were actively involved in the blaze by the time firefighters arrived.

The crews at the scene worked quickly to contain and extinguish the flames to prevent the fire from spreading further.

No injuries were reported.

CK Fire officials said the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) has been notified and that CK Fire and Rescue inspectors are at the scene, which is being held by Chatham-Kent police as the investigation continues.
