Another long weekend means another round of closures across Chatham-Kent.
Municipal offices and most services will be closed Monday, August 4, in recognition of the Civic Holiday. This includes Employment and Social Services, Fleet Services, and Housing Services.
Entegrus, CK's Public Utilities Commission, and Public Works will also be closed. The municipality said that, in the case of emergencies, Road and Water/Wastewater services will be available.
Service Ontario locations in Chatham and Dresden will both be shut on Monday, as will the Provincial Offences Court, though fines can still be paid online.
CK Public Health will be closed, reopening for regular business hours on Tuesday. After-hours services will still be available by calling 1-866-446-8207.
Some services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) will be closed, while others will be altered. Some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. Hemodialysis Care and Emergency Departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be open.
Libraries, theatres, museums, and galleries will be closed for the holiday.
Blenheim and Thames Campus Arenas will be open for scheduled rentals. All others will be closed.
Municipal pools will operate on an altered schedule on Monday. They will be open between 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Curbside garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day during the week of August 4.
All Waste Depots and Leaf and Yard Depots will remain open during the Civic Holiday.
Those who take public transportation will need to get around in a different way on Monday, as Ride CK Transit services will not be operating.
