Tilbury man charged in historical sexual assault case

A Tilbury man has been arrested in connection to the sexual assault of a child.

The LaSalle Police Service reports the assaults happened between 2014 and 2017 in the Town of LaSalle, City of Windsor, and Town of Amherstburg.

The 57-year-old was arrested Thursday and was charged with nine counts of sexual assault, eight counts of sexual interference, and one count of invitation to sexual touching.

The name of the accused has not been released to protect the identity of the victim.

No further details have been released.
