Intimate Partner Violence

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 42-year-old man from Chatham-Kent with assault causing bodily harm.

Police alleged the accused physically assaulted a 52-year-old Chatham-Kent woman on Thursday night in Chatham, causing her to lose her balance and fall.

According to police, the accused also attempted to choke the woman.

The victim was able to break free and leave the scene, police said, adding that medical attention was provided for her minor injuries.

More Intimate Partner Violence

A Chatham-Kent man has been charged with assault following an argument with a woman that turned physical.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the a 59-year-old Chatham-Kent male suspect struck a 52-year-old Wallaceburg woman on Thursday night during a domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg.

The female victim needed medical assistance, police said.

Break & Enter Charges

Break and enter and theft charges have been laid against a Dresden man after a homeowner spotted an unknown man break into his home on a surveillance camera.

Chatham-Kent police said the incident happened on Thursday just before 6 a.m. in Dresden.

Police alleged the 41-year-old suspect was seen entering through a basement window and rummaging through various rooms in the house.

The suspect had left the scene by the time officers arrived, but was arrested later in the day in Dresden.

According to authorities, the suspect was also wanted for failing to comply with his release orders from a previous incident.
