Wanted Chatham woman surrenders to police

A 44-year-old Chatham woman turned herself in to police on Friday for a warrant related to a theft last year.

CK police said the woman had a warrant issued for her arrest in April after she missed a court date.

The women faced break and enter and theft charges in connection to an investigation that began on May 6, 2024.

Police said, on that day, they spotted a vehicle in Tilbury containing multiple tools, including a generator, a miter saw, and a chainsaw. Investigators found that those tools had been taken from a nearby storage shed.

The woman was later arrested and the property was returned to the rightful owner.

The woman has since been released from police custody with a future court date.
