Downburst recorded in Wheatley area

The storm that hit Wheatley this past weekend is now being recorded as a downburst.

According to the Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP), an EF0 downburst happened Sunday morning just north of the Chatham-Kent community.

One barn was severely damaged, with some farmers reporting damage to their crops. The NTP said a trampoline was lifted by the strong wind and flung.

A max wind speed of 130 km/h was recorded. No injuries were reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
