Masked Robbery

Chatham-Kent (CK) police have arrested three suspects following a robbery at a convenience store in Chatham.

Police say two masked men entered a store on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. They allegedly stole multiple cases of alcoholic drinks and assaulted a store employee.

A woman was reportedly seen entering the store before the masked men and left with them in a vehicle.

Police noted the employee was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.

The suspects were arrested 90 minutes later at a residence on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

A 40-year-old woman from Blenheim, a 21-year-old man from Chatham-Kent, and a 20-year-old man from Chatham-Kent face several charges including robbery and wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a criminal offence.

Vicious Shoplifting

A robbery in Chatham has led to a man being arrested and charged.

CK police allege that a 32-year-old Chatham man was seen by a witness concealing various items in his backpack and clothing at a retail store on Queen Street in Chatham on Tuesday.

The suspect reportedly threatened a store employee before striking them with a hammer.

The employee received a small abrasion to her hand, said police.

The suspect was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and uttering threats to cause death.

Break & Enter

A man from Chatham-Kent has been arrested and charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling.

A property manager discovered the back door of a home on Woods Street in Chatham was damaged and suspected a former tenant broke into the home, according to CK police.

The 60-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after officers found him in an upstairs bedroom.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
