Chatham man charged following bike theft

A 42-year-old man has been charged after allegedly breaking into a Chatham home.

On Wednesday, police were called to Prince Arthur Avenue, where they were told that several items had been taken from a garage. This included two bicycles.

The next day, the victim reportedly saw a man riding one of the stolen bikes.

The second bike was later seen on the back patio of the man's apartment.

When officers searched the property, they reported finding items linked to an additional break-and-enter

The man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. He remains in police custody awaiting his next court appearance on September 4.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
