A 37-year-old Chatham man is facing several charges after allegedly assaulting someone while trying to steal their vehicle.
At around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received a report of a break-in on Stewart Line in Wallaceburg.
When officers arrived, they were told by a 38-year-old man that he had found multiple people taking items from his vehicle and putting them in another vehicle.

The two suspects reportedly fled into a nearby corn field before police arrived.
A K-9 Unit and a drone operator helped officers find a 37-year-old man in the field. He was arrested and charged with theft, possession of stolen property, robbery with violence, assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Officers later found a 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman on First Street. She was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Police say the vehicle the suspects allegedly used had been reported stolen.
