CKHA eliminates several managerial positions, five people laid off

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is laying off several members of its management team.

Eight positions are being eliminated, with senior leadership at the hospital claiming this was done due to current financial challenges and to better align with its new strategic plan.

The roles being cut include:

  • Vice President, Transformation

  • Vice President, Mental Health & Addictions (vacant)

  • Director, Professional Practice & Organizational Development

  • Manager role in support services

  • Manager role in clinical operations

  • Supervisor role in community operations

  • Supervisor, Medical Device Reprocessing Department

  • Spiritual Care Provider

In total, five people are leaving the hospital.

The CKHA is expected to save around $1 million because of these cuts.

The Vice President, Clinical Programs and Operations will now take on the previous responsibilities of the Vice President, Mental Health and Addictions.

Spiritual care will also continue to be offered at the hospital. CKHA senior leadership claims they're aiming to partner with local clergy and volunteers to provide such services.
